Collection: Randy Van Beek

Randy Van Beek

Randy Van Beek has been a full-time artist since 1980. Largely self-taught, he studied the techniques of 19th-century American, Dutch, and Austrian masters. Since the late 1990s, his primary focus has been the American West, with particular emphasis on landscapes and historical Native American encampment scenes. Committed to authenticity, Van Beek conducts extensive research on tribal history, visits historic sites, and creates study paintings on location to capture the soul and spirit of each place.

In 2013, he was selected as a Charter Member of the C.M. Russell Skull Society of Artists, an inaugural group of 22 artists chosen by the C.M. Russell Art Museum to carry forward the legacy of Charles M. Russell (1864–1926).

Van Beek’s awards, honors, and affiliations include the Briscoe Western Art Museum, the C.M. Russell Art Museum, the Museum of Western Art, the National Geographic Society, and the Smithsonian Institution. His work has been featured in five national art magazines, most recently Western Art & Architecture and Art of the West (April 2025).
