Collection: Tucker, Ezra

Ezra Tucker’s wildlife art is reminiscent of the descriptive art of naturalists like John James Audubon and John Gould and the work of wildlife artists like Bob Khun, Carl Rungius, Edwin Landseer, Arthur Wardle, and Antoine-Louis Barye. His compositions reflect the natural behaviors and postures of wildlife—they seem poised to step out of two dimensions into a three-dimensional world. He achieves a romantic appeal with his color palette and lighting of his subjects that is familiar but new to contemporary wildlife art.

Tucker has a bachelor of fine arts degree in advertising design from the Memphis Academy of Arts in Memphis, Tennessee. He has exhibited at Night of Artists at the Briscoe Western Art Museum; Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale in Cody, Wyoming; The Russell at the C. M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana; the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, South Carolina; American Miniatures at the Settlers West Gallery in Tucson, Arizona; the James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg, Florida; and Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

Tucker’s work has been featured in Western Art Collector, Western Art & Architecture, Sporting Classics,

The Post & Courier, Southwest Art, Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector, International Artist Magazine, and African Hunting Gazette. His work is in many museum and private collections. Tucker is a member of the Society of Animal Artists.
