Collection: P.A. Nisbet

P.A. Nisbet*
Born in North Carolina in 1948, P.A. Nisbet began studying painting at the age of ten. Over the course of more than forty years, he has pursued fine art with dedication—starting with watercolor and transitioning to oil painting by age twenty-five. Nisbet is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, including duty in Vietnam.
Following his military service, Nisbet established a freelance commercial art business, providing graphic design and illustration for more than twenty-five national organizations. In 1980, he moved to the Southwest and devoted himself to painting Western landscapes. Since then, he has completed and sold hundreds of works inspired by his travels around the world, drawing particular inspiration from the deserts of the American Southwest and Mexico.
Nisbet’s paintings are held in the permanent collections of the Tucson Museum of Art, the Eiteljorg Museum, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, and the Booth Museum. He is represented by Meyer Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson, Arizona.
