Collection: Quang Ho

Quang Ho
Quang Ho finds artistic inspiration in the everyday details of his immediate surroundings rather than seeking out predetermined subjects. His work spans a wide range of themes—including still life, landscape, interior scenes, dancers, and the human figure. “Realism and abstract—it’s all the same to me,” Ho notes. “The real essence of painting is the dialogue between shapes, tones, colors, textures, edges, and line. Everything else follows—including light, form, concepts, personal beliefs, and inspirations.” Working primarily in oils, watercolors, and pastels, he allows each piece to dictate its own mode of expression: one painting may function as a color study, another as a formal arrangement, and another as an exploration of texture and surface.
Ho is a sought-after teacher and lecturer, and he has received numerous prestigious national awards, including those from Artists of America and the Oil Painters of America. He has been the subject of a retrospective exhibition at the Steamboat Springs Museum of Art and has also presented work at the Woolaroc Museum and the Booth Museum of Western Art.
Outside the studio, Ho enjoys reading philosophy and science, playing guitar and golf, and spending time hunting for fossils and foraging for mushrooms.
