Jon Flaming*

Jon Flaming lives in Texas with his wife and business partner, Kathy, while their children and grandchildren reside nearby. Primarily self-taught, Flaming’s work has been influenced by artists including William Lester, Everett Spruce, Otis Dozier, Stuart Davis, and Marsden Hartley. He works in oil, acrylic, and found materials, developing a modern interpretation of the Western genre that has earned him a dedicated following of collectors and fans.

Over the years, Flaming has collaborated with brands such as Stetson, Tecovas, The John Wayne Family, and YETI, licensing his artwork to promote their products. His fine art is held in prominent collections, including The Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, the Booth Western Art Museum in Georgia, the Tyler Museum of Art, The Grace Museum in Abilene, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Art, and the Museum of the Southwest in Midland.

Flaming’s work has been featured at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, as well as in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the country. His paintings are represented in many private and public collections. Most recently, he exhibited at the Far West Show in Austin and participated in the Far West Show in New York City.

Flaming’s innovative approach and contemporary vision continue to expand the boundaries of Western art, blending traditional themes with a modern sensibility that resonates with audiences nationwide.
