Collection: Ray Brown

Ray Brown is a visual artist whose work reflects a lifelong passion for nature, wildlife, and the outdoors. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications, Brown spent several years working as a commercial artist and designer in Baltimore, Maryland. While his early career focused on meeting the demands of the commercial art world, Brown always sought to create work that was more personal and connected to the natural world. Since relocating to California in 2002, Brown has dedicated himself fully to this vision, producing artwork that merges his technical expertise with a deep reverence for the environment.

Working primarily in charcoal, Brown creates works on paper that reflect his unique perspective on the natural world. His pieces are rooted in close observation and an emotional connection to the landscapes and wildlife that inspire him. Through creative design and composition, expressive mark-making and careful attention to form and detail, Brown captures the quiet complexity and beauty of nature.
